I accept private pay, or you can use your insurance through Thrizer.

I use a service called Thrizer that automatically submits superbills for you and allows you to only pay a copay for my sessions, typically saving clients on average 70% of my full rate every session.

How does it work?

Option 1:

-You pay just your copay at the time of the session.

-Thrizer charges a 5% service fee based on my session rate.

-This fee is paid at the time of the session, along with your copay.

-Thrizer handles the rest directly with your insurance.

Option 2:

-You pay my full session fee upfront.

-Your insurance reimburses you directly afterward.

-Thrizer charges a 1% service fee.

-This 1% fee is automatically deducted from your reimbursement before it reaches your bank account.

Why don't I take insurance?

Insurance requires a mental health diagnosis, even when someone is simply seeking support for growth, stress, or relationship concerns. Most plans don't cover couples therapy. In addition, insurance companies often audit sessions, request detailed treatment records, limit the number of sessions, and issue clawbacks (demand repayment months later), which can disrupt care.

More broadly, insurance companies are large corporations whose primary obligation is to shareholders, which can create pressure to minimize costs rather than prioritize individualized care. If insurance companies move toward models that genuinely prioritize patient wellbeing, privacy, and clinical autonomy, I would welcome the opportunity to participate more directly. In the meantime, I use services that help you access your out-of-network benefits so therapy remains as affordable as possible.

Remaining out-of-network allows me to focus fully on your treatment rather than insurance restrictions, while still helping you use your benefits when possible.
